So here’s the thing - we’ve all forgotten what it’s like to have the slightest smidge of human interaction.

Whether it be going out for bubble tea or starbucks, it’s all a figment of the past.

When was the last time you guys checked in on your friends?

Your relatives?

It’s easy to mistake complete isolation for just chilling at home, which is why we’re gonna have a chat about how we can still maintain healthy relationships in this unique time.

1. Facetime

We’re not living in the 1500s, where letters and servants are our only method of communication.

Facetime is a great way for us to check up on our loved ones who may be living away from us, or our mates.

You don’t even need to show your face, despite the method calling being ‘Facetime’.

Just the simple pleasure of each other’s company is enough to not drive you insane from loneliness.

Ask how they’ve been - do a mental health check!

Mental health is just as important as physical health.

Some other video call alternatives include Zoom and Facebook Messenger (you can create a ‘room’ and call multiple people at the same time).

2. Gaming

This one, we’re sure, is already being used by a lot of you guys.

Multiplayer games are the best way to keep in touch with your mates and still have fun in isolation.

The competitive edge in gaming is bound to keep your adrenaline running without having to meet in person.

Social distancing for the win!

Although this is a great way to have fun with your mates, be sure to keep a healthy balance between housework and school work.

3. Pen-palling

We know what you’re thinking: who pen pals these days?

Well it sounds a bit 90s, but pen-palling is making a comeback, and people are switching it up with cool stationery.

Do we even know where our friends live nowadays?

If not, shoot them a quick message, and start writing!

It’s as simple as writing a simple recount of your day and what you’ve been up to.

You can even watch videos on YouTube or check out Instagram for aesthetics and inspo on how to make your letters interesting.

Pen-palling is also known as ‘snail mail’ due to the waiting period, but we have heaps of time to burn, so at least you’ll have something to look forward to in the mail!
